THEME: SUOMI 100
For this year the Tiirismaa Activity Day will be focused on the 100th Anniversary of Finland. We planned 7 stages with activities related to Finnish culture, traditions and sport excellence. In addition, every activity will have it's own Moomin figure, specially drawn by Stefano following examples of the main character of series of books and a comic strips by Swedish-speaking Finnish illustrator Tove Jansson. Discover more about Suomi 100: |
Each activity has its own colour and Moomin, so everything will be easier both for kids, teachers and organizers.
In every stage location there will be also a sign with the Moomin drawing and the organizers responsible for that stage will wear a Pass with their name and the stage colour! ORIENTEERING - DARK BLUE DANCING - PURPLE ICE HOCKEY - GREEN DISC GOLF - YELLOW BALL GAME - LIGHT BLUE JAVELIN - ORANGE ACCURACY - RED |

STAGE ORIENTEERING
Orienteering is a traditional sport which still cherishes the loved finnish story “seven brothers” or in finnish “Seitsemän veljestä” by organising relay competition called Jukola relay once a year. There is seven legs in this relay as there is seven brothers in the story. Our relay is not going to be as massive as the real Jukola is but we will still compete against each other in orienteering relay which takes place in a maze build on the field. The maze will be filled with controls which you’ll have to visit in the order shown on the map. Fastest team to have all its runners go through the maze wins! But first we’ll have a few practise rounds.

STAGE DANCING
Dancing station is all about having fun and enjoying moving. In this station all students get to dance legendary finnish dance called Letkajenkka. Instructors Armi, Mette, Helena and Emma have also a surprise choreography to a Finnish song called Sata salamaa. All movement is dancing.
Come and have a blast with us. Students: Helena (L), Mette, Armi, Emma |
STAGE ICE HOCKEY
As we know hockey can be fun on the ice but off the ice as well. Today we are going to do some basic drills so you guys can see how fun it is. So firstly we are playing bowling but of course with sticks and balls. So their are the botles and as you shoot you have to shoot dow as many as you can. The most shooted bottles team win.
The second part is a little bit harder. You have to handle the ball with the stick between the cones and in the and pass to your partner. This is a game between the groups. Which group will finish first thats the winner :) Students: Marton (L), Iiro, Tamas |
STAGE DISC GOLF
This amazing activity for Tiirisima 2017 is going to have different parts and different challenges depending on the age of the group. First we are going to learn the technique of throwing a disc and, once we all know how to do it perfectly, we will advance to the next interesting step.
Next step is how to throw the disc to the direction we want and the distance we want. After this we are going to do different funny games to challenge ourselves. Students: Garoa (L), Tiki, Stefano |
STAGE BALL GAMEEach team has 4 player. One team stays inside an area and the other stays outside. Basically the game has 2 parts - 5 minutes each.
The ones who are outside try to hit with a soft ball the ones who are inside. If the ones who are inside get hit, then they go out and so on until there’s no one left inside. The ones who are in can try to get the ball if the ball hasn’t touched the ground It's really similar to dodgeball. The winner is the team who has more players inside the box. Students: Francesko (L), Ralfs, Ana |
STAGE JAVELIN
Does everybody know Tero Pitkämäki?
Or Seppo Räty? These guys has brought Finland to all other countries' eyes in javelin throw competitions. It is sport what we love to watch on TV. We are going to throw different equipments at the Tiirismaa Activity Day and we will measure the distances of each try. Will we achieve the new world record in rubber boot throw? We'll find out! Students: Kalle (L), Mitja, Martin |
Every student will also wear a blue scarf, proudly offered by our sponsor
OLAND, with logos of the Activity Day, Haaga-Helia and Suomi 100. |
STAGE ACCURACY
|
This fun game is inspired by accuracy. The first task is to divide yourselves in two teams and then we will start this amazing game. There are 6 hula-hoops. You need to throw a bean bag in them and this way collect points for your team. You can get 5 points from the farthest three hoola-hops, 3 from the middle ones and 1 from the closest.
